Why fish for thirty days?

Well yes you may well ask why, I’m even asking myself…

A few things have aligned themselves and I’ve been given a pretty unique, well unique for a married guy with a family, to be able to go fishing everyday for thirty days, so well why not give it a go…

The company I work for have posted me on a project at Whangarei for two months, as this is a bit too far to commute everyday, around 150km from my home in Auckland, I’m moving up there for the two months. I’ve managed to find and rent a property in Ngunguru which is just north of Whangarei and right on the coast.

So here I am, living on the coast, a mad keen kayak fisherman, have kayak will travel, nothing to do in the evenings and weekends as my family, although will visit from time to time, will be at home in Auckland, I’m sort of free to do what I want…

The challenge was sparked from a conversation between my wife and I one evening, what am I gonna do with myself, all that fishy coastline to explore, evenings and weekends on my own, I could fish everyday for two months..! Hmm yea two months is a little crazy, why not try one month, thirty days, that’s where 30Fish came from. So like I said a pretty unique set of circumstances so why not take the opportunity…
