Another day another new location, this time I fished out of Marsden Marina, I launched and went with the current flow out past the timber port and carried on past the oil refinery wharf too.

And for a change I was fishing Snapper central, I started fishing at the timber dock along with a couple of small boats, must the locals I guessed.

Every cast was getting hit, nothing huge but a lot of nibbles on the softbait all through the water column, not too many of them were picking up the bait and running with it but there were a fair few hookups.

I managed to land a total of three before I drifted as far as the oil refinery dock, the bites then tailed off.

May have been due to the big tug that was sneaking up on me…

The tug was off to bring in a tanker, if you thought the tug was big…

Now that’s what you call a drogue…

But once the ship came in the fishing went totally dead, ah well time to call it a day, I’m heading back to Auckland for the weekend, gonna  go fishing with a few forum members from www.KayakFishingNZ.com for an early morning session at Narrowneck.
